Alaskan Malamute Sires from Candy Rock Kennels

  Why Rescue?

Around 35 percent of all puppies , never live out their lives in the first home. This doesn't mean that there is anything wrong with the dogs. Sometimes divorce, loss of home and new family members( a new baby). Just naming a few reasons. I have had people return dogs because they find their lives are to busy, they find the dog is to large and some that even take of different relationships that the new partner is afraid of big dogs.

Lightening and Thunder and Bandit came from a home were they were bought just for breeding. Not caring about what the dogs needed. They lived in small cages, and lacked vet care. When we went to look at Lightening and Thunder they were outside in the rain with no shelter. There was no food or water present. These dogs appreciate any attention they get. There is nothing wrong with them.

So taking an a older dog has its advantages. You don't have to go through months of training a puppy to go outside, you don't have to pay out vet expenses for shots, spade or neuters and you don't have to worry about everything in your house being chewed up. These dogs only want to please you.

I hope that there are people out there that can find it in their hearts to take on older dogs. Over 120,000 dogs a put to sleep a year through shelter and pounds.

It is easy to sell and produce pups. It really don't take much to place a pup but to take on a rescue is so much more rewarding.

If you are looking at this page I hope and pray that you find it in your heat to adopt one instead of a pup. If not here maybe though a local shelter or pound.

Teyah

1 Year old female Born June 28th 2008.

Teyah is a sweet girl. She is 100lbs and should be able 115 full grown. She is not easy to take picture of but will send more upon request. Adoption fee 300.00

Pet Only

Pure white male AKC registered. Just turned 3 years old April 9th 2008. He is about 100lbs. Lightening will be ready for Adopted August. 2008. He came to us and was proven positive for heart worm and is undergoing treatment. He was neglected not abused. He is a high spirited and loving male. He is 88 lbs in weight and will be neutered before placing in pet home. He was another breeders breeding stock and deserved more than that. I could not bear to let him go through another situation like that, were profit would be the only reason to take him. I will have over 3,000.00 tied into these two dogs and want the best of home for them. No chaining out, not little 10x10 kennels and would be even happier if I could find a home that would take Thunder with Lightening.  All homes must be pre approved.

This is an after picture and a before picture of Thunder. She will be 3 years old in July 2008. She is in heatworm treatment and as of now is doing fine. She must be proven heart worm clear before she leaves as well and spade. He next treatment is June 18th and then one month after she will be re tested. At that time she will be spade. Would like to find a home for her with someone that would be willing to wait until her treatment is done. All homes must be pre approved and would like it if there was a way that Thunder could go to lightening. They were raised together. She is 63 lbs in weight.

Bandit

Born Oct, 2004. He is  a joy to be around. He has a great personality and and was raised with Diamond and Angel in the house of a want to be breeder that found out it was to much work and decided to let them go to another want to be breeder that also sold the dogs. So I would like to find him a home where he can be a great family pet. Fee includes neuter. Call for more information.
